Palatka Jr.–Sr. High School juniors and seniors experienced the powerful LifeFlight Experience, beginning with a powerful assembly featuring impactful videos and real-life stories about the consequences of distracted and unsafe driving. Speakers shared what they see every day, and the life-changing consequences that can follow a split-second decision behind the wheel.
The experience continued outside with a mock crash demonstration, where students watched firefighters use the Jaws of Life to extract a patient and witnessed a life flight helicopter land on campus to transport the patient for critical care.
Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and speak directly with first responders.
The message was clear:
Wear your seatbelt.
Put your phone down.
Stay focused behind the wheel.
At PCSD, we’re committed to shaping the future and helping our students make choices that will protect their lives for years to come.

It's CTE Month!
What is CTE? CTE is Career Technical Education that prepares students to be ready to enter multiple pathways after high school graduation by connecting learning directly with hands-on experiences, real-world learning, career explorations, academic learning, work-based learning, and professional skills, while also offering industry-recognized credentials to take into the workforce.
**We kicked off CTE Month with 8th Grade tours. Our CTE & elective teachers were able to showcase our wonderful programs to our current 8th grade students to help them learn more about what we offer and to be able to make course selections for next year. Our ROTC student leaders were awesome putting their leadership skills into action by leading our 8th grade students! Thank you to everyone that participated and helped make this event a success!

📵🌱 Digital Wellness Week Tip!
Raising digitally smart kids starts with conversation. Preparing students for the digital world means talking openly about online safety, digital footprints, and responsible choices — especially as they grow.
As part of this important conversation, we invite families to revisit a past podcast featuring Superintendent Rick Surrency, where he discusses online safety and supporting students in today’s digital environment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHBRnEe367Y
Thank you for participating in Digital Wellness Week. Let’s continue building healthy, safe digital habits together. 💚 💙

📵🌱 Digital Wellness Week Tip!
Screens are everywhere — so balance matters. Too much or low-quality screen time can impact sleep, behavior, and social development, especially for younger children. Think of screens as a tool — not a babysitter.💚💙
#DigitalWellnessWeek #ProudtobePCSD

📵🌱 Digital Wellness Week Tip!
Healthy screen limits help kids thrive. As children grow, screen rules should grow with them — focusing on balance, sleep, and family connection. Bonus reminder: kids notice adult screen habits, too. 👀💚💙
