In this week’s episode, Superintendent Dr. Rick Surrency speaks with Ann Fonts from Florida Prepaid about the importance of planning ahead for college and career education costs.
Florida Prepaid helps families lock in future tuition at today’s prices, offering flexible plans that can be used at Florida public colleges and universities, as well as many private and out-of-state schools. Plans can also help cover housing and other qualified expenses. If college savings has been on your mind, now is the time to act. With affordable payment options and plans designed to fit a variety of budgets, Florida Prepaid can help give your child a head start without the uncertainty of rising costs.

We want to celebrate our school Librarian/Media Specialist, Mrs. Debra Gastelum, whose talents and skills we could not do without at PJSHS! Mrs. G. takes care of our literacy needs with a beautiful media center stocked full of high interest student materials, computers, and room for teachers to bring entire classrooms of students in to explore and research. Her monitoring, maintenance, and distribution of over 1,000 student devices is another feat in itself! She's also trained a wonderful student staff who assist her throughout the day as well. Please don't skip our media center upstairs whenever you visit our campus!

Our Palatka Jr-Sr High School Assistant Principal team is committed to meeting student needs and achieving school-wide goals together. With more than 100 culminating years of experience serving students and families through various educational roles right here in Putnam County, we have a vested interest in our community to support and prepare our Panthers for future success in whatever path they choose.
Our leadership team of APs also confidently coaches and supports our teachers and staff at PJSHS. Through intentional planning and collaborating together, our team is able to seek out, promote, and celebrate the accomplishments of all Panthers as often as possible. While this year is wrapping up soon, our work together has only just begun! Let’s Go Panthers!

We are officially in the home stretch! This weekend, our Panther Army JROTC Cadets will host the inaugural Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk, and we would love to see a strong showing from our school family.
To make things easy for you, we have two options for packet and T-shirt pickup:
Friday, April 3rd: Early pickup will be right here at the school in the Circle Drive (by the Commons). Swing by after the final bell to grab your gear!
Saturday, April 4th: If you can't make it Friday, you can pick up your packet at the race registration tent (Bronson-Mulholland House) starting at 9:00 AM.
Event Timeline: The morning will begin with opening comments and a special tribute at 10:00 AM, followed immediately by the start of the run/walk.
Whether you are running, walking, or just coming out to cheer, thank you for supporting the First Responders of Putnam County and the City of Palatka. We’ve worked hard to coordinate this event, and we are so excited to "run" into the weekend with all of you!
